Annual Fundraising Campaign

Help Howard

It has been a rough year. Let’s make next year better!

As we emerge from lockdown, we start to look forward to the next school year – field trips, sports tournaments, artists & scientists in the schools, Fall Fete, Spring Social and other beloved events.

All of these cost money and there isn’t any left in the school council account. Let’s make sure next year starts off on the right foot. Donate now and receive a charitable tax receipt.

Why Donate?

Health & Wellness Support

The long-term impacts of the lockdown on our children have yet to be seen. Howard has a strong community of caregivers who have been building Health and Wellness supports over recent years. We should be prepared to invest heavily in this area.

Outdoor Learning

The last two years have shown the value of spaces in which outdoor learning can safely take place. Additional microphones & speakers, seating and sun shades will help make this a reality.

Enhanced Experience for Your Kids

Funds raised go to pay for things like: visiting scientists & artists in classrooms; in-school plays for the younger students and going out to plays for older students; commissioning new murals and maintaining old ones. Funds are also needed to prepare for expenses such as bouncy castles for Fall Fete, scripts for musicals, venue rentals and insurance.

What the Kids Say

It would be great to have more classes outside cause it’s like um like really small in the classroom.

I don’t think we have enough money…

Why Donate?

It’s scientifically proven to add value!

  • Your donation pays for enhanced programming like ‘Scientists in School
  • This social enterprise charity sends scientists into classrooms with equipment and samples to lead curriculum-aligned workshops for our kids
  • Teachers say these workshops are ‘extremely effective’ in enhancing students’ understanding of scientific principles
  • Kids say the workshops are ‘so cool’ and ‘we got interested in learning’

Help Howard supply take-home STEM kits, host an open house of STEM activities and fund other volunteer-committee-lead initiatives.

Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education puts an emphasis on preparing future generations to be successful in their careers and helps build the thinking needed for innovation. The Howard Public School Council’s STEM committee needs funds in order to purchase supplies, maintain the kits they’ve already purchased and to bring in specialists to run workshops.
