Pizza Fridays

Pizza Fridays has become a tradition at Howard.  Many schools have a Pizza Friday but none have one like Howard’s spectacular “PIZZA FRIDAY”.

Students are treated to full table service.  There is no waiting, no lining-up.  Each student has their specific order placed at their Area’s table.  When they arrive for lunch at the gym, their order is set on the table before them with their name tag indicating their spot.  Many tables are put out by our “SUPER CUSTODIAN” Angel so there is room for all.

We have Pizza Friday on the last Friday of each month, generally.  Exact dates for 2018-19 are above.  The exceptions are December due to the many other activities that month and June which has Weenie Wednesday to end the year off.  That makes for 9 events in the year.  It gives each participant a pizza slice, choice of milk or water and cookies at each of the Pizza Fridays and a hotdog, juice box and freezie on Weenie Wednesday.  Additional slices and drinks are available at an additional cost.  Some slices and drinks are available for purchase on Pizza Friday’s at $2.00 and $1.00 respectively – quantities limited.

The food is ready by 11:45 am.and the students are heading out to the playground by 12:10 pm.  This allows the students to have a fun lunch and still have their full recreational time.

Volunteers arrive around 11:10 am at the gym.  Our volunteers work like crazy to have everything ready for the students when they arrive.  They are then on call to handle any problems the students might have.  The volunteers work hard, but it is fun and a good social time for parents/guardians that want to be part of the school community.
