Hello Howard Community,
It was touch and go for a few days, but we are thrilled to announce the Fall Fete is coming to Howard on Saturday October 19th 10am-2pm! Join us for a fun-filled day of bouncy castles, haunted house, cake walk, wine raffle and loads of great food.
Planning is well underway, and Signup Genius will be out shortly. We are on a tight timeline this year with planning delayed as we awaited final decisions with CUPE. We are hoping that our amazing Howard community will step up quickly to help support this fantastic event.
Here’s how you can help:
USED TOYS:
Small used toys for the Fishpond. Donation bins are located outside the office. No plush toys or books please.
BASKET RAFFLE:
This popular raffle can’t happen without contributions from our families! Donations of new items are collected, sorted and assembled into beautiful, themed baskets and raffled off at the Fall Fete.
Please send new items with your child – baskets are outside the office. Need some ideas? Themes from past years have included – arts & crafts, toys, games, books, sports related items, things for the BBQ, gourmet food & kitchen items, health & exercise, home office, home spa and beauty items, items for a movie night or a rainy day, items related to gardening, chocolates, candy, coffees, teas and other gourmet/luxury items. Please think of what you would like to win when making your donations!
WINE RAFFLE:
Donate a bottle, then try your luck at winning a case! Pressed for time? This is a great way to make a Fall Fete contribution. Simply drop off a bottle of wine at the school office (please respect office quiet times). Pick a personal favorite, or something that you’d like to share (or win!). Bottle donations will be accepted from now until Friday October 18th. All donations will be assembled into cases to be raffled off at the Fete. Last year ten lucky winners each went home with a case of assorted wines.
BAKE TABLE:
Bring your nut-free goodies to be sold at the ever-popular bake table. Squares, cupcakes, cookies – all welcome. We would love gluten-free offerings as well. Drop off baked good on Friday evening or before 9am Saturday.
And don’t forget the CAKE WALK! Bring your scary or creative cakes to school by 9am on October 18th for a chance to win. Then try your luck at the Fete to win a cake to take home.
