Hello Howard Communities,
A discussion on one our local Facebook communities on the weekend led to the creation of a separate devoted Facebook group to try to channel a groundswell of community concern and energy into collective initiative to make our neighbourhood streets safer for all, but especially children and pets.
The conversation started after one of our neighbours lost their family cat to a hit and run on Grenadier and the post led to discussion of community-wide concerns surrounding aggressive vehicular behaviour on our neighbourhoods streets and the risks they pose to those who live here. The intent of this group is for residents of the Roncesvalles and Parkdale community to share information and ideas on how to make and keep our neighbourhood streets safe, and to see action with strength in numbers.
Are you tired of drivers running the crosswalks on Roncesvalles? Speeding down one-way side streets because GPS tells them it’s the faster way? Rolling the stop signs EVERYWHERE?
Please consider joining ASAP if these issues concern you as well.
You can find the group on Facebook by searching for “Roncesvalles & Parkdale Community for Safe Streets“. If you are not a Facebook user, stay tuned as initiatives from the group will be shared via the blog whenever relevant.
Thank you!

Searching for the FB group and not seeing. Can you create a link?
There’s a group called Friends of Roncesvalles Avenue with similar posted concerns re traffic. May be worth linking efforts with them.
