Hello Howard Community
We are just over a month away from our annual parent social and silent auction (May 10). Our fundraising efforts at this event are a very significant contributor to your Home and School Council’s annual budget and we reply on parent support to make it a success.
Moving the annual silent auction from the Fall Fete to a spring “grown-ups only” event has been a huge success in the past. Those of you who have been at the school for a few years may remember how hard it was to browse the auction tables with sugared-up kids bouncing all around you. We are looking forward to this year’s event and we NEED YOUR HELP!
Please think about your networks AND your own skills and make a donation to our silent auction. The options are endless! Previous highlights have included:
- event tickets
- sought-after tech items
- gift certificates for shops, camps or classes
- community members donating their professional services (architects, life coaches, RMTs etc.)
- and community members donating their personal talents (cooking, face-painting, knitting, music lessons, etc.)
Do you have season tickets to the Blue Jays and can spare a pair? How about a great bottle of wine? Are you regulars at a restaurant who would love some exposure and could be convinced to donate a gift certificate? Are you a passionate gardener who would love to help someone else plant a flower bed?
These are just the tip of the iceberg! Please contact our auction lead Tess at howardsilentauction2019@gmail.com to coordinate your contribution! We look forward to learning more about the talents in our diverse community along with receiving more traditional item, experience and event donations.
Many thanks!
The Social planning committee
PS. Tickets for THE SOCIAL will be available starting next week. It’s definitely not too early to book your sitters for May 10!
