Parent Michelle Stafford is sharing this initiative which may be of interest to members of our community:
“I wanted to share the details of the inaugural meeting of The West End Parents for Public Education (February 13, 6pm) with all of you. At Dovercourt P.S., a small group has been meeting over the last several years to coordinate activism around a number of issues that impact our community. This year, we are hoping to create a larger network of people who are interested in pursuing this work. We are specifically organizing around issues that impact public education in advance of the provincial budget which will be released a little later this year. We are hopeful that this meeting will be an opportunity for us to connect with each other, learn about what others are already doing, and to explore how families can collaborate to agitate for fairness and decency in public policy that impacts our children’s future. It would be great to have more Howard Park representation on this initiative.”
