Our next School Council meeting is Weds November 21 at 7pm. We hope to see you all there. Please see the attached agenda. You will note the topic of structure for charitable donations is listed on the agenda. A recurring concept brought to Parent Council year over year is the idea that Howard Junior Public School’s Parent Council could donate some of its raised funds to schools that do not have the ability to raise funds and/or other community organizations such as Redwood, etc. (charitable giving). In order to generate a respectful and valuable discussion that balances all voices, forty-five minutes at the end of this meeting will be allocated to this topic. This will be a brainstorming session, and the goals for this meeting will be to:
- Deepen everyone’s understanding/get to the root of the issue as to why Howard Junior Public School’s Parent Council could undertake charitable giving;
- Discuss logistics/mechanics of the task including time commitment, limitations, resources; and
- Brainstorm ideas about how logistics could be managed with least possible impact.
