MUSICAL

DESCRIPTION |
AMOUNT OF TIME |
|
DIRECTOR |
Direct the musical, blocking, plan and run rehearsals Whatever else a director does! |
About 3.5 hours a week in January, closer to 5-6 hours a week in Feb, 7 a week by March, about 8 a week in April and by the first week in May – 14!
On top of that is the time spent analyzing the script and doing the blocking – a couple of hours per scene?
And time to choreograph – a few hours per number. Catherine Hume is willing to help with choreography.
I spent time with Andy on the initial design – between 2-3 hours?
There were production meetings (2 or 3), individual meetings with lighting, audio and costumes. There was the make-up workshop. There were daily ‘meetings’ with Carol and her glue guns as we neared showtime.
There was time to prep the weekly rehearsal schedules.
It really is hard to put a number on it, but by the time March Break rolled around it felt quite all-consuming – in a wonderful way.
