Many of you are aware that Nelly, our crossing guard on Sunnyside, was injured in a hit-and-run accident while walking across Sterling Road last week. We are happy to have Nelly back and hope that she heals quickly, both physically and emotionally. Do not hesitate to let Nelly know that you and your children are thinking of her.
Please let this unfortunate accident be a reminder to drive safely and cautiously at all times. In order to keep Howard student drop-off and pick-up safe, do not park in the bus loading zone or the crosswalk on Sunnyside. This is a serious safety hazard for all of our students and our community. Please keep our school grounds and the surrounding streets safe by parking only in designated areas, and park on surrounding streets when there is no parking available on Sunnyside.
