In addition to being Howard’s biggest fundraising event, the Fall Fete is a great day to build community while having fun! We need a volunteer, or two (or three!) to lead this project for next fall. This is a great way to meet parents and contribute to your kids’ school! The great thing about the Fete is that it is an established event with great volunteer participation, so the role of Chair is to simply keep the event organized and on track. You don’t even need a tonne of Fall Fete experience – the past few chairs, have volunteered in minor roles before taking on the task of being Chair(s).
Our past Chair, Erin McCaughan, is very happy to walk a new team through the whole process. Or maybe you have some new ideas and want to take the Fete in a new direction? Anything is possible!
Last year, the Fete raised just over 30,000. This is an amazing community achievement and we want to keep the momentum going! The funds raised go directly to enrich our kids’ school experience – through classroom supplies, additional technology, mental health resources, visiting artists, field trips, just to name a few.
So please spread the word, call a friend, or think of someone who would be great at this role and give them a call!
