Dear Families:
Once again Howard P.S. is pleased to be hosting its annual Terry Fox Run/Walk on Thursday, September 29th (Rain Date: Friday, September 30th). All monies raised through our event will go to The Terry Fox Foundation to further the cause of cancer research.
We are very proud to be associated with The Terry Fox Foundation and believe that your involvement will launch a successful, positive and meaningful school year. We are thrilled with our contribution to cancer research and to date over $31 000 has been raised by the Howard School community for cancer research.
We encourage all students to take part in our efforts to help support cancer research. Participation on September 29th and the online pledging function are fun and easy ways to support this cause. Please use the pledge sheet or this link to Howard School’s Fundraising Page to get started. Pledge sheets can be handed into the classroom teacher.
You are also invited to participate by walking, jogging, or by cheering for our students as they complete their walk/run. Although teachers are participating and supervising this event, it cannot run successfully without parent volunteers. If you are able to volunteer, please return the bottom portion of this note to your child’s teacher by September 22nd. A member of our organizing team will be in contact to arrange how you can help.
Our goal this year is to match last year’s contribution of just over $5000. We are confident we can realize this goal with the full participation of the school community. We hope to count on your support. Let’s keep Terry‘s dream to find a cure for cancer alive.
Terry Fox T-Shirts are available for purchase. Click HERE for your Merchandise Order Form, instructions on how to order, and a picture of this year’s shirt. Sales are added to your school’s fundraising total as these proceeds support cancer research as well. All orders are non-refundable. Return these order forms with payment to the classroom teacher by 23rd. T-shirt will be delivered to your child before the event day.
