Dear Parents and Guardians,
We would like to take the opportunity to invite our parents into our school next Friday May 20th from 2:30 to 3:30 to see our students’ work on a school-wide math problem. We want to celebrate all the efforts of our teachers and students in developing their math problem-solving skills.
Every class from Kindergarten to grade 6 has completed some version of the same rich problem-solving math question. Students have been developing a variety of problem-solving strategies which they have used to help with the solution, and you will have an opportunity to view their creative math thinking through this Math Bansho.
Student work will be posted on the outside of every homeroom, and we encourage you to ‘tour’ our school to see the variety of ways that students from every grade solve this problem. Some classes will also be available for you to pop in to see ‘math in action’.
We look forward to seeing a number of you next Friday afternoon!
