Fall Fete – Hundreds of Volunteers Needed

Calling All Super Dads and Super Moms!

Did you know that it takes over 100 volunteers to run our successful and popular Fall Fete?  Last year, the event raised $27,000 (over one-third of our Home & School Association’s budget) and contributed to wonderful extras at our school: such as visiting artists and scientists, field trips and playground equipment to name a few.

We still need a LOT of volunteers to make sure this year’s Fall Fete is a success! To help out, all you have to do is sign up for a brief 2 hour shift at http://bit.ly/fallfetevolunteer or fill out the orange volunteer form that will be going home in your child’s backpack this week. It’s a quick and easy way to give a little something back to the school and help us run another great fundraiser.

Feel free to talk to any of the past or current Fall Fete volunteers and they’ll tell you much fun it is!

Are you a parent without weekday availability to volunteer at the school? Are you a parent of a child who takes a bus to Howard? This is a great way to get involved with the school and meet other parents and children. Concerned about who will watch your kids while you volunteer? Find another parent to share childcare with and take turns volunteering!

Great at running games? Are you an expert face-painter? Do you love serving up gourmet food? How about selling raffle tickets? Scaring kids at the Haunted House? There are so many areas to choose from and the sooner you sign up, the more choice you’ll have.

Have a kid in high school? We are also looking for a number of high school students to volunteer and they can get some of their required volunteer hours!

Can’t commit this year but maybe next? Ask us about shadowing a current volunteer. We are particularly interested in finding someone to shadow our Chairs, Cake Walk Coordinator and the Basket Raffle Coordinators.

Sign up soon at http://bit.ly/fallfetevolunteer and see you at the Fete!
