Thank you to the parents who responded to the Technology Survey. The results to date can be found via the link below. Our response rate to this survey was very low. Typical response rates to our parent surveys are 60-70% and yet only 43 (out of approximately 300 Howard families) completed this survey. https://www.surveymonkey.net/results/SM-YDD7JWY8/ The password is howardparent.
It is a very busy time of year and perhaps not the best time to engage people, given this we will regroup and continue our planning in early September. The good news is six additional parents and three additional teachers have agreed to join the Howard Technology Committee and help with our planning. Thank you to these individuals for volunteering and we look forward to working with you and anyone else who would like to contribute come fall.
We will leave the survey open over the summer and we encourage you to take a few minutes to complete it.
Integrating technology is not an option – it is mandated by the Ministry of Education and the curriculum teachers are to follow is outlined by the TDSB. The goal of the Committee is to work with parents, administration and the board to combine available resources and knowledge to produce the best possible infrastructure, practices and training with regards to technology for the school. No small task, but we look forward to achieving this aim.
Have a great and hopefully (technology-reduced) summer.
