More Canadian Opera Company Tickets!

Hello all,

We have two more Canadian Opera Company performances available to us this season!

The first performance is Roberto Devereux on Monday April 21st at 7:30pm (that’s Easter Monday).   Roberto Devereux is intended for students in grade 7 and up.

Here’s the description from the COC website:   Donizetti’s showstopping melodies and sumptuous period costumes bring the intrigue of the Elizabethan court to life within a Shakespearean, Globe Theatre-inspired setting.

The second performance is Don Quixote on Wednesday May 7th at 7:30pm.  Don Quixote is for grades 4 and up.  But here’s the bad news:  the Don Quixote performance is on the same night as our first Willy Wonka show.  So we have an unfortunate situation where there’s too much good stuff on one night and many of you will not be available.

Here’s the Don Quixote outline:  A romantic French take on Spain’s greatest literary hero. In this enchanting production, characters spring out of giant leather-bound storybooks as windmills are fashioned from oversized quills.

Just as a reminder, the Canadian Opera Company allows us this opportunity to see dress rehearsals provided we have three students for every adult.     The tickets cost $20 each with a portion of that going to the Howard School music fund.   It doesn’t matter if the students attend Howard but we need to keep to the ratio.  The idea, of course, is to introduce opera to younger generations.

If someone is not able to pay the $20 and would very much like to see an opera, please let me know.  We have two tickets available for interested families.

If you are interested in either performance please email me at icolabrese@hotmail.com and hand in the form to Ms. Spademan by Monday March 17th as the children return from March break.

Thanks,
Ines Colabrese
