The Band, Strings and Choirs will be performing next Wednesday, June 12 at a special Music Assembly. Parents are invited to come and hear the students sing and play. All participating students must come to school prepared for the performance (instruments, uniforms, etc.) Please note that choir members should pull long hair away from their faces. Junior Choir members need plain white shirts under their vests. Dark pants or skirts only. There will be two final rehearsals; Monday June 10 at noon for the Primary Choir and Tuesday June 11 at 7:50 for the Junior Choir.
Ice Cream Party
Following the Music Assembly, Choir members (Primary and Junior) will celebrate the year end with an ice cream treat. Cones will be served in the Music Room at 3:30 on Wednesday. Any parents who are available to help scoop, please contact Ms. Spademan.
Choir uniforms must be returned before the end of the year. Please launder your child’s shirt or vest following the Music Assembly and return it to the music room, labeled with your child’s name and area number. There is a replacement fee for lost or damaged uniforms. ($15.00 for Primary shirts, $25 for Junior vests)
Also, if your child has a white shirt in good condition that no longer fits him or her, please consider donating it to the Music Department. We are sometimes in need of spare shirts for children who forget their uniforms on performance days.
Our third annual Howard Idol contest will take place on Wednesday, June 19 at 2:30 p.m. Many Junior students auditioned for their classmates over the past few weeks. The finalists will be announced on Monday June 17. Parents of finalists are invited to come and watch. Winners will be chosen by the whole school, and announced at the Awards Assembly on June 21. Good luck to all our talented singers, dancers and instrumentalists!
