Thanks to the generous support of the Howard Parents Council and the work of the Howard Arts Council, all students will be soon be participating in a series of dance and drama workshops offered by the Education department of the Canadian Opera Company. Students in the English stream will work on “The Brothers Grimm” written by Canadian composer Dean Burry and students in the French stream will work on “L’Enfant et les sortileges” by Maurice Ravel.
The visiting artists have asked that the students come to school dressed in clothes that will allow for comfortable and creative movement (i.e. loose pants, leggings, flat shoes) on the days when they will be participating in these workshops). The workshops will take place during regularly scheduled music periods with Ms. Spademan and Ms. Jonas. Please refer to the attached timetables to see when your child will be involved.
